What is Co-Parenting A, B & C?
The court may have asked you to attend co-parenting training (A, B & C) to help reduce conflict within your family.
The term “co-parenting” describes an arrangement in a divorce or separation where both parents share
responsibility for raising their child in a spirit that promotes healing, cooperation and growth.

What is Part A?
Co-parenting Training, Part A will introduce you to the latest research on co-parenting conflict, and its harmful
effects on children. As a participant, you will also learn how to avoid the dangers brought on by prolonged parental
conflict.
Format: classroom or home-study. Length: 2.5 hrs
What is Part B?
This session deals with recognizing and reducing levels of co-parenting conflict, such as: how to use the language of de-escalation; ways to reduce stress; the power of compromise; negotiating effectively with difficult people; and how to build a strong co-parenting plan.
Format: classroom or home-study. Length: 5.5 hrs
What is Part C?
A brief process that will help you to build or modify a custody plan by pin-pointing and resolving the key issues that are fueling conflict. Format: both parents and a private mediator.
Length: varies - 2-4 sessions on average.
Questions & Answers:
I need to complete 6-10 hours of co-parenting counseling. Can I attend your program?
Yes. Our program counts for eight hours. If you need two or more additional hours we can help with that also.
Can A & B be completed on the same day? Where?
Yes. We offer A & B together on Saturdays from 8:30am-5:30 pm in Riverside, Temecula, Hemet and Indio on a rotating basis. Or you can opt to complete our home-study program.
Do both parents have to attend A & B together?
No. However, the research suggests that families benefit more when both parents attend. Consistent with this, we strongly recommend that both parents attend together.
Who presents the A & B workshop?
Tobias Desjardins, LCSW, has specialty training in areas including: divorce mediation; child custody evaluation; domestic violence, child abuse and trauma; anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders; substance abuse and treatment; and family mediation.
Mr. Desjardins is a member of the: American Bar Association, Family Law section; Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC); National Center for Victims of Crime; California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT); and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCS#21569)
